BluOS is the phenomenal audio operating system that provides the foundation for the world's Highest Fidelity audio streamers - from Bluesound, Bluesound Professional, NAD Electronics and others.
Not only do the products from these manufacturers provide the best audio quality available, the BluOS platform is - in our opinion - the most stable audio streaming platform we've ever encountered. Forget Sonos.. forget Autonomic... BluOS run reliably, day-in, day-out.
Despite Crestron Home not directly supporting 3rd party media streaming solutions (other than those mentioned above which are "baked in" to the Crestron Home product) Ultamation have created a suite of drivers that allow integrators to provide their Hi-Fi-appreciating clients with a Crestron Home solution that includes BluOS device control, whether it is centralised players in a distributed audio system, local stand-alone room audio or even wireless portable devices taken out onto the balcony or garden.
Our drivers present BluOS devices to Crestron Home as an audio source/volume control so they can be connected to other components using the standard Crestron Home routing, presented on the UIs as a standard source, and provide basic control of the source device (transport control, preset selection, volume control).
We've also created a "helper" extension that provides a little extra sauce, in the form of now playing information, preset lists, repeat, shuffle and thumbs up/down.
This short video shows how to add the drivers and connect players to volume:
Browsing of collections/services is carried out using the native BluOS app.
Licensing is PER SYSTEM - so you may use as many instances of the modules as you wish against a single Crestron Home processor.
BluOS is now the serious alternative to unreliable alternatives.
