Ultamation Streamlines Apple TV IP Driver Licensing for Crestron
Ultamation is excited to announce a significant update to our Apple TV licencing for both Crestron Custom and Crestron Home, designed to make life easier for integrators while maintaining the same seamless end-user experience.
Previously, each licence needed to be tied to both a specific Apple TV name and the host processor. Thanks to our new licensing platform, that’s no longer the case. While the Apple TV name remains a key part of the pairing process, licensing is now managed in a far more integrator-friendly way:
- No difficult-to-enter licence keys required for commissioning (licencing is still required per Apple TV).
- There's no need to specify the Apple TV names at the time of purchase.
- If clients require Apple TV name changes, there's no need to request new licence keys from Ultamation support - just update the pairing file.
- Existing licences remain fully valid and will continue to operate as before, so there’s no disruption for existing projects.
This update also unlocks benefits across our growing range of drivers:
- Licence status at a glance – no need to dig through processor logs
- Easier licence moves – simply provide the old and new MAC addresses, and licences can be swiftly transferred to a replacement or upgraded processor
This change reflects our commitment to improving the integrator experience—removing friction, simplifying deployment, and ensuring that Ultamation drivers remain the most reliable and user-friendly choice for Crestron systems.
